The World Hates Jesus And His Children (John 17: 13-21,24)
“I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.
I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
My prayer is not for them alone.
I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you…...Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.“
(John 17:13-21-24)
These verses must fill all of us with a great joy.
We, the children of God, must rejoice all the days of our lives in this world. Why?
Because our hope and faith is in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Can you imagine that Jesus is praying for us.
We are engraved in His palm. He knows that the world hates us as it hates Him.
So He is asking Father God to not take us out of the world but that to protect us from the devil, our enemy.
He is proclaiming that we are not of this world, as He is not of it.
He wants us to be Sanctified by the truth; How? By keeping His word and obeying His commands, as His word is truth.
He is not only praying to the Father for us but also for those whom we preach and they will believe in Him through our messages.
Jesus, the creator of heaven and earth, has no longer called us servants but has called us friends, for everything that He learned from His Father He has made known to us.
He has chosen us and appointed us so that we might go and bear fruit.
This will be the fruit of the Holy Spirit in us that will last, and so that whatever we ask in His name, the Father will give us.
How great is this privilege and how precious is this love with which, Jesus Christ, the giver of love and eternal life, has loved us.
Thank You Jesus for Your lovingkindness.
Amen.
