What Are The Signs Of A Born Again Christian? (1John 2: 28-29)

“And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.” (1John2:28-29.)

These verses gave us the clue what are the signs of being born again in Christ. 
The first sign is that we became the children of God? How? 
By believing, accepting, and receiving Him. 
We are in unity with Him and our bodies became His temple.
 Our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son, Jesus Christ. 
St. John is telling us, now being called children of God, we must abide in Him and preserve this grace that has been given to us. 
The second sign is that our lives have been changed and we became righteous. 
St. John said that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him. 
Our minds, thoughts, conducts, and words we utter have changed. 
St. Paul in his second epistle to the Corinthians, said,”Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”(2 Corinthians 5:17.) 
So the main sign that we are saved and been born again Christians is that all our habits and acts have changed.
This proves that we have been transformed to be in Jesus likeness. 
The third sign and the most important one is our love to all people even our enemies who persecute us and hate us. 
Because God is love, being in unity with Christ and abiding in Him, we receive His eternal life and love in us. 
St. John in his first epistle, chapter four, verses seven & eight, said, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
May we all abide in Jesus love and life and be transformed to His image and likeness.
