Today's Prayer

Prayer Longing For The Joy Of The Holy Spirit

Jesus my Lord,

I am always stressed and I want to feel happy from time to time to be released from stress.

Though I have the ability to do many things to make me happy, yet it lasts in an instance.

When I read Your word in the Gospel I know that joy is the fruit of Your Holy Spirit.

Jesus, I lack Your Joy in my life but I long for it.

I will keep asking You to fill me with Your joy every day.

Please Jesus, change me and fill my heart with gladness.

Take my eyes off my need for a shift in circumstances and be expectant of a shift in soul and spirit.

I trust in You Lord and I believe that You can indeed do that.

Your joy is a different feeling than the earthly and fleshly happiness that I create by my own self.

And truly, I have every reason to be full of joy in You always, yet too often the world weighs me down.

Please Lord, let my unsettling circumstances and sorrowful situations that surround me, be the opportunity to overcome them and feel the joy of victory over all the evil spirits that persecute me.

Let Your joyful and victorious Spirit overflow my spirit and soul to lighten the load that the devil puts on my emotions and my body.

Lord, please pour out Your joyful Spirit all over my life.

Help me to focus my eyes on You every morning.

Help me to keep praying for eyes to see You and Your abounding blessings throughout my day.

So that regardless of the sadness I feel or the difficulty I face, above all, my heart will see and be full of You.

Jesus You commanded me to love You and abide in Your love that Your joy may remain in me, and that my joy may be full.

Yes, Jesus You are my joy.

And You are my Lord and Savior.

I love You Jesus thanking You for Your Joy that is my strength in the time of trouble.

I give You all the honor and praise now and forever.

Amen.
