We Have Victory Over The Devil In Jesus’ Name (1Corinthians 15:55-57)

“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:55-57 NKJV)

Father God has loved the whole world and gave us His incarnated Son to defeat the devil and all his evil spirits on the Cross and gave us His Resurrection, that is to say, His victory over sin and death. He did all this in His body, which is our body. Jesus is our ladder to Father God.

Though we, the Christians, know this truth, yet we feel most of the time that we are defeated, deeply disappointed, and weary. It is still very easy to let life’s challenges back us into a corner of defeat. When there’s resistance at every turn, and mundane tasks start to feel monumental, defeating thoughts can cause us to retreat.

We spend the majority of our lives fighting defeating thoughts. As soon as the wicked one throws a doubtful thought or fear, we quickly surrender to this idea and we feel defeated. We are in a continuing battle with our enemy, in our work, relationships, health, and faith. The devil does his best to keep us in a place of defeated living.

Now, all of us must stop giving the devil an opportunity to fulfill his lies. He is a liar. We have victory over him in Jesus’ name. If we are united with Jesus and He is indwelling in us, we have no doubt that we have victory in His name. And from this place of victory, every doubt, depression, or feeling of defeat has to bow at Jesus’ feet.

We must not doubt the work of Jesus on the Cross for us. That is not only a great sin that will separate us from Jesus’ love and protection, but also we are giving our enemy a great opportunity to defeat us. We must rebuke all his spirits and evil works in Jesus’ name with faith. Without faith, we will not defeat our enemy. With complete and bold faith in Jesus’ Almighty power, we must reject the devil’s doubtful and fearful thoughts. At the same time, we must focus on Jesus’ Almighty and overcoming power and receive it in the Holy Spirit. Amen.
