There Is No Condemnation To Those Who Are In Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1-8)

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God."

(Romans 8:1-8 NKJV)

We, the Christians, all know that Satan attacks us day and night to separate us from our Lord, Jesus Christ. This is his main goal. He is our enemy who came to steal, destroy and kill us. He is very wicked and sneaky. The way and the tactic he attacks a believer in Christ with, is different than when he attacks a non-believer. As soon as a believer believes in the name of Jesus, and believes that He is the Son of God, the devil starts his war with him and tries to draw him away from taking his second step, which is to receive Christ in him.

Believing is the first step in our spiritual growth. The devil tries by all means to let us see that just believing that Jesus is Lord, go to the church, and read the Bible as we read any other book, is everything and we need not to continue the way to be true children of God. Jesus said that the one who loves Him is the one who obeys His commands. His command is to reject all the lustful desires and live in the Spirit, not according to the lust of the flesh.

Jesus commanded us to love one another as He has loved us. So we have to love our brothers and sisters and forgive them their trespasses. So there is something we have to do with our own free will, which is, to live righteously with the power of Jesus’ name.

The devil deceives the believers that all the promises in the Bible are theirs just by believing. When they read the Gospel, they get blinded and do not understand the word of God clearly.

One of the lies that the devil deceives the new believers with is, that no condemnation for those who believe in the name of Jesus. This is not the truth. The first verse in the passage we just read says, there is no condemnation to those who are IN CHRIST, not just believe in Christ.

The demons also believe that Christ is the Son of God. To be IN Christ means to be united with Christ. Christ be in us and dwells in us. We become in His image and likeness and be partakers in His Divine Nature and have the New Nature. To be born again from above, that is to say, not to walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death. To be spiritually minded and be filled with Jesus’ life and peace.

Amen.
