Put On The Whole Armor Of God (Ephesians 6:10-12)

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:10-12.)

We, the children of God, know that we live in a fallen and broken world which is our spiritual battlefield.

Our enemy, the devil, is real and he wages war with us day and night, either with evil and fearful thoughts or with trials. 

He wants nothing more than to defeat us and makes us his slaves. 

His main aim is to steal, kill, and destroy us.

His attacks are ruthless and cunning.

So what we need to do to be prepared to this war?

To put on the armor of God.

What is the armor of God?

Jesus Christ is God’s armor.

He is the One who defeated the devil on the cross for us. He gave us His victory in His body, our body. 

He died in this body which is our body and He rose from the dead. 

He rose from the dead to give us His resurrection, that is to say, His victory over sin and death.

When we receive Jesus in the Holy Spirit and abide in Him we get united with Him.

This unity is our armor.

In Him we can defeat the devil and all his temptations to sin and so we never die with sin. 

Sin leads to our death spiritually and then physically.

How we put on the armor of God, that is to say, to be united with Jesus in the Holy Spirit?

Jesus said that those who love Him are those who obey His commands.

He also said that those who receive Him, not only believe in Him, are those whom He will give them the authority to be the children of God.

Receiving Him is more than believing.

Receiving Him means to be united with Him in the Holy Sprit. It means He will be dwelling in us and being in Him and He in us we will be able to say no to all the temptations of the devil.

We will have the Spirit of discernment that will help us to discern his lies and his fake and cunning spirit that deceives us and we will be able to reject it.

So today we all have to be prepared and put on the armor of God to win our battle over the devil our enemy.

Amen.
