Fear The Lord And Depart From Evil (Proverbs 3:5-8)

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. 

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. 

It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.” (Proverbs 3:5-8)

We, the believers in Jesus’ name, should ask ourselves a very serious question which is, if we really trust our Lord, why we still worry and feel anxious. 

The answer to this question is in these verses that we have just read.

We still worry and feel anxious because, trust is a word we utter by our mouths but not with all our hearts.

We still lean on our own human reason and understanding.

We are wise in our own eyes. 

We see that we can do everything by our own strength and we just repeat words in our prayers that we do not live.

We say, we trust in You Lord, but actually we trust in our intelligence and the worldly knowledge that we have been taught from worldly wisdom.

Jesus came to save us from this sinful world whose prince is the devil.

He said that He is not from this world and we must be like Him, not from this world.

He said I will leave and go to my Father, but I will not leave you orphans but I will send you the Holy Spirit, my Spirit, to dwell in you.

He said receive My Spirit and He will guide you and give you My wisdom, My love, My comfort, My peace and My life. 

So we all must fear the Lord and be away from every evil spirit of arrogance, selfishness, and worldly lust and desires.

Never lean on our own wisdom and understanding but submit to the Lord and obey His commands.

Amen.
