Today's Devotional

Those Wo Abide In Christ Are Not Condemned (John 3: 18-21)

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 

And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 

For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 

But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” (John 3: 18-21)

Emotional burdens are much more heavy than physical ones. 

Too often we carry the guilt of sinning and not able to reject sin. We carry the old mistakes, old wounds, unresolved grief, and lingering shame. 

But the word of God in the Gospel is telling us today that no condemnation for those who accepted Jesus Christ, the Light of God, who came to give us His life, the eternal life.

When we receive Him in us, we repent, reject sin, and abide in Him.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

He asks us every day to not carry the weight of our past.

When we repent and ask for His power in the Holy Spirit, we overcome sin and its temptation and we become true children of God.

When we abide in His love and His command, we will be victorious and the accuser, the devil, will flee away.

When we choose forgiveness despite tremendous hurt and pain, Jesus will come to redeem us and change what was meant for harm and use it for our good.

When we surrender everything and every burden at the feet of Jesus, He comes and fills us with His peace, joy, and restoration.

Jesus is reminding us everyday that He came not to condemn us but to give us His life and give it abundantly.

We, the children of God, must lay down our burdens on Him and He is able to take it away and give us His peace, and His overcoming power over any trial or temptation.

In Christ we can surrender our pain and walk in freedom, peace, and restoration.

Amen.
