Today's Prayer

A Prayer For Finding Rest When Serving

Father God, I am tired and stressed by the relentless demands of caring for others and the responsibility of everything around me.

My mind does not stop racing, and I am completely drained from taking care of everything. 

When I read Your word in the Gospel I find rest. 

You said come to me you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 

Lord, I accept Your invitation now and I come to You asking for You rest. 

I want to feel it now. 

I open my heart to receive it now.

I will take a break right now and sit quietly in Your presence, meditating on Your word and soaking myself into Your Spirit to receive Your peace and comfort to my soul and body.

I am so much exhausted and all my body aches. 

But I am sure now that I will receive Your healing power and I will feel great and filled with Your strength and Your everlasting joy. 

I give You now my pain and receive Your healing power over my mind and body.

Please, Lord, send me the assurance I need in the Holy Spirit that You are holding both me and my loved one safely in Your hand. 

In the precious name of Jesus, I pray. 

Amen.
