Today's Devotional

God Created Us For A Purpose

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2: 4-10)

Sadly, many of us feel downtrodden because we lack purpose.

We think that this is because we are not having a fulfilling job, or being single, or being unworthy.

We, the believers in Jesus’ name, must know that our worth is found in Christ, not in the things of this world.

Unfortunately, even among the believers, many people believe our purpose is found in getting married, having a family, or landing a successful job.

These things can be wonderful gifts, but that are not where we should find our purpose or worth.

Jesus has a wonderful purpose for our lives, a purpose that God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Our purpose and worth are in Christ alone.

We must pray asking our Lord, Jesus, to help us see ourselves as He does.

He will guide our path and ensure us grasp the wonderful life, His life. 

He came to us to give us a better life abundantly. 

He has a purpose for each one of us. 

He will use us for the sake of His glory. 

But until He reveals this for us we pray and wait to hear His voice. 

We also should get ourselves prepared to receive His order, that is to say, we surrender everything to the Holy Spirit.

To permit the Holy Spirit to sanctify us to receive the fullness of Christ in us.

When we are ready He will use us and we will fulfill His purpose of our lives.

Amen.
