Loving The Lord Is The Core Of Our Life (1John 4:19-20)

“We love Him because He first loved us.

If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? “ (1John 4:19-20)

Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, is the source of our lives.

He created us in His image and likeness.

Jesus is love, so no one can love can love his brother with holy love, not worldly love, without having Jesus dwelling in him.

Father God loved us first by sending His only begotten Son to our world to save us from our enemy, the devil, and release us from his bondages.

Jesus came to our world that we may have His eternal life, and that we may have it more abundantly.

Because He is a free Lord and full of love He created us to choose Him with our own free will. 

Unfortunately, we can forget the Lord’s great love for us when we choose to live life on our own way, doing things according to our worldly desires.

When we act outside of our Lord’s will for our lives, we are not only hurting ourselves, but giving ourselves to our enemy, the devil, who came to steal, destroy, and kill us.

Jesus said that we are slaves to whom we obey.

We either obey Him or the devil.

When we obey Jesus we receive His life in us, but when we obey the devil we receive his death. 

First and foremost, loving Jesus, our Lord, is how we live the true Christian life.

To love Him is not a burden to follow strict rules, but a response that flows from His love toward us.

As we reflect on His kindness, mercy, and faithfulness, our hearts are filled with Him.

Through prayer and spending time meditating in the word of God, our love for Him continues to grow and His love flow out from us to others.

Amen.
