Today's Prayer

A Prayer To Repent Not Loving Others

My Savior Jesus,

Thank You for loving me and saving me from sin and death.

I am amazed by Your choice to enter my broken world, confronting the devil, my enemy, on the cross, defeating him and abolishing his evil power of sin over me.

Thank You for offering meYour resurrection to receive it in the Holy Spirit.

Thank You for doing this with Your body which is my body, to give me Your overcoming power over sin and death.

Who am I that I should receive such love?

You took away all my sins and abolished their power over me, though I hurt You everyday by choosing to do wrong and not obey Your word in the Gospel.

Though You loved me that much and You forgive me every time I come to You to repent my sin, yet I cannot love others around me neither able to forgive them.

I apologize Lord, for not obeying Your command to love my neighbor as You have loved me, and for not forgiving those who hurt me.

You said You will not forgive me if I do not forgive those who hurt me.

I come to You now, Lord, to repent.

I am full of pride that I see myself righteous and deserve people’s love and respect while I do not love them.

I repent my selfishness and arrogance.

Please Lord, work in me through Your Holy Spirit to produce the fruit of love-sacrificial and wildly generous love that seeks nothing other than to reflect the love You have given me.

Produce in me by Your Spirit a new way of life that is marked by Your grace and mercy and to love even my enemies.

In Your precious name I pray.

Amen.
