Love Is The Foundation Of Our Faith (1Corithians 13:1-3)

“Rejoice in the Lord always.

Again I will say, rejoice!

Let your gentleness be known to all men.

The Lord is at hand.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians: 4-4,6)

Most of us struggle with fear most of the time.

We get fearful thoughts that the devil always throw to our minds.

He Accepting these thoughts leads to anxiety.

Our reading today gives us the keys to defeat fear.

The first key is what St. Paul is drawing our attention to, that our Lord is so near, He is at hand.

Talk to Jesus verbally and let him know your fears and worries.

The second key is to pray and ask Him to help you see Him near, that you are not carrying this alone, and to fill your heart with His peace.

Realizing the fact that Jesus is so near waiting for us to let our requests be made known to Him, is the reason why St. Paul started His sermon asking us to rejoice.

He said it twice to assure us that Jesus is there for us and that He overcomes all the fearful thoughts and anxiety.

We must have faith while asking and be sure that He will take away the pain and all the stress.

The proof of our faith and confidence in Jesus’ triumph over all the fear and stress is that we rejoice before we get His response to our prayers and supplications and see it with our own eyes.

The third key is to give Him thanks.

We must pray with thanksgiving and praise.

We must deliberately take time to count our blessings.

We have a lot of blessings that we take it for granted without thanking Jesus for it.

Thanksgiving is a very important key to defeat the devil and make him flee away.

We must choose to be grateful to our Lord and ignore the fearful thoughts and its effect on us.

This is how we survive to fight him more and more every day.

May we all rejoice and be thankful to our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, for Him coming to our world to defeat the Devil for us on the cross.

Thank You Jesus for giving us Your victory over all the evil thoughts, pain, and anxiety.
