Today's Prayer

A Prayer of True Repentance

Oh Holy Lord and my Savior Jesus Christ,

Thank You for Your salvation.

Forgive me and have mercy on me.

I am a fool who wants to have You in me and at the same time keep my sinful desires which are holding all my body and soul.

I know that You cannot indwell in me while I am obeying the devil and all his evil thoughts and lustful desires.

Your word in the Gospel says that I am a servant to whom I obey.

Yes, Lord, I confess that I am a slave to the devil.

You warned me many times in Your Gospel, of him who came to destroy and kill me.

Thus I know the truth, I am still enslaved by him.

Help me Lord and cleanse me from all my impurities and dishonesty.

Release me Lord from my bondages to sin.

Come in the Holy Spirit and help me to reject him and give You a promise not to return back to him.

I die everyday while I am obeying the devilish thoughts he throws into my mind.

Please, Lord, come and cleanse me from the sin of pride, and lustful pleasure.

I am full of pride and think so highly of myself and at the same time I feel I am empty and worth nothing.

I am so confused, worried, frightened and very sad.

All theses are the spirits of the evil one.

I want to be released Lord from the devil’s presence in me.

I want to go back to Your bosom and feel that I am loved, precious and worthy.

I come to You today to confess all my sins and ask for Your forgiveness.

I wash myself with Your precious blood for forgiveness of all my sins.

I want to promise You and make with You a covenant to live a new life and receive the new nature and be born again.

I will reject the devil and open my heart and submit to the work of Your Holy Spirit for sanctification in me.

Thank You Lord for giving me this new chance to honor You and give You all the glory now and forever.

Amen.
