The Revelation Of The New Testament Is Jesus (Hebrews1:1-3)

“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.” (Galatians 5:25-26)

When we see ourselves through the eyes of the world and not in the eyes of Christ, we get ourselves fall in the trap of dissatisfaction.

We find ourselves dissatisfied with our condition, our appearance, dissatisfied with anything we own and have, or even with anything we do. 

We find ourselves looking at others around us, envying their lives, their children, or even their wealth.

And we start to compare our situation and theirs.

The first thing we find ourselves falling in is, self-pity and discontent with God.

This act of comparison is a hidden sin covered with many deceitful feelings.

Comparison can be a formidable opponent in our lives, because it can become a huge barrier between us and the work of the Holy Spirit in us.

If we do not see comparison as a sin, it can lead to our destruction.

We must know that Jesus loves us, and He created us in His image and likeness.

If we focus on Him, He will be able to fix every ugly and crooked things in us and change us to His complete and perfect image.

Jesus’ love to us covers our defects and imperfections.

We do not need to compare ourselves to anyone but rather run our race with perseverance until we get to our goal, which is to be in Jesus’ likeness.

We must pray and ask God to purify us from this hidden sin, the sin of comparing ourselves to others, which leads us to other sins like envy, bitterness and hatred.

May the Holy Spirit open our inner eyes to all the hidden sins in our lives in order to be true children of God and be able to receive the new nature, His nature to receive His eternal life.

Amen.
