Set Your Mind on Things Above (Colossians 3:2)

We read the Epistle to the Colossians 3:2 ,”Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”

The devil our enemy loves to distract us.

He always keeps us busy either with bad news or problems or even tempts us with things that occupy our minds all the time. 

He throws in our minds thoughts of doubt, hatred, fear and confusion.

He wants us to be earthly, possessed by earthly ideas, and thinking with temporary mindsets. 

But St. Paul calls us to put our thoughts towards things above, not worldly things. 

So we have to ask the help of the Holy Spirit to give us a renewed sense of what is eternally significant and purposeful. 

May we not miss the opportunities to see each day as a mission field for eternity and focus on it with confidence. 

May Jesus give us clarity and strength to think on things of Him and not of our flesh. 

May He remind our souls of what is spiritually significant. 

Please Jesus, reveal Your will and purpose to us and help us to live them out by Your Spirit. 

Enable our minds to think on things of You. 

Give us thoughts that are honorable and focused on Your love. 

Amen
