I Am the Resurrection and The Life

In the Gospel of John, Jesus introduced Himself saying, “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25). 

The divine life that is in Christ is able to heal a person from the death of sin. 

It was necessary for the confrontation between life and death to occur on the cross, for life to triumph over death and nullify it. 

This is the cross and the resurrection. 

This confrontation took place on the cross and the eternal life of Jesus overcame death and Jesus was risen. 

After Jesus’ resurrection, His life overflowed from Him to man, and the Holy Spirit was poured out on His disciples as a firstborn for humanity. 

And by this the Spirit of God returned to man who had departed from him by the fall. 

God’s life returned to man after he had lost it by obeying, loving and accepting evil in his being; Man received the power of resurrection and the victory over death made by Christ by His crucifixion and resurrection.  

We read in the book of revelation, chapter twenty-one, verse seven, ”He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.“ 

So by Jesus’ resurrection that fallen human nature might be renewed and become a temple and a dwelling place for God in the Spirit. 

We read in the Epistle to the Ephesians, chapter two, verse twenty-two, “in whom you also are built together as a dwelling place for God in the Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:22).
