Partakers Of The Divine Nature: Living a Godly Life in Christ

“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (2Peter1:2-4)

We all must rejoice for this good news. 

Jesus has given us all we need for a Godly life. 

How? 

He has given us His divine power. 

When we accept Jesus and receive Him in the Holy Spirit, we receive His power to change to His image and likeness and thus be able to live a godly and righteous life. 

How can we be like Him in the Holy Spirit? 

Through the dwelling of the Holy Spirit that we accepted and received, we became partakers of His divine nature. 

What a great and precious promise. 

We must praise the Lord with thanksgiving for His great and precious gift. 

In His grace He has given us Himself with all His power and authority. 

He did not just give us the forgiveness to our sins in His precious blood which He shed on the cross but He gave us His overcoming power to not to sin. 

He gave us His power to reject the devil and his lustful temptations. 

He gave us the opportunity to have a new nature and live a godly life. 

We cannot live a godly life by obeying the law and that is why He came to our world. 

He confronted all the evil spirits on the cross, overcame them in His body, which is ours, and rose from the dead. 

He did this to raise us with Him. 

Now in Him we can overcome the devil’s lustful temptations. 

In His precious name we can rebuke the devil and he flees. 

Thank You Jesus for the cross. 

Amen.
